Tony Whelan and the story of Pele's shirt
On 11 June 2022, we were honoured to welcome legendary coach Tony Whelan to our club sessions.
Tony kindly shared the inspiring story of his Pele shirt with our young people who were excited to have photos taken with it (and Tony!).
Tony's copy of the famous photo of Bobby Moore and Pele also showed how important humility, sportsmanship, equality and respect are. Values we place at the heart of everything we do too!
It was an amazing day we will all remember forever! We were especially delighted to be able to share this special moment with the Ukrainian children at our club and to welcome them to our caring, happy football community!!
